Biography


Beatrix Potter was born in London in 1866. She was a solitary girl who always showed a fascination with nature. He studied art and natural history. She began her career as a writer and illustrator of children's literature in 1901, at the age of thirty-five. Before World War I, he published an average of two new stories every year. When he was financially independent he was able to buy land in the Lake District, where he moved in 1913, after his marriage to lawyer William Heelis. His stories and illustrations allowed him to spend the last thirty years of his life as a sheep farmer. His books never ceased to be popular and even today millions of copies are sold. They have been translated into more than 30 languages ​​so that children and adults from all over the world can continue to enjoy these endearing characters.

This story is one of the famous Peter Rabbit Books written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter, which have been enchanting children throughout the world for four generations. The new color reproductions were taken from Potter's original artwork, and appear just as freshly as when they were first painted.

↯ The Tailor of Gloucester ↯



The Tailor needs his last skein of thread to finish a waistcoat for a wealthy client. His cat has hidden it from him, because the Tailor freed the mice the cat had caught. The mice save the day by finishing the coat.
